Fifteen-year-old Ann Burrows was excited when she found out that her family would be moving to California's Alcatraz Island. She had visions of sunny beaches and warm breezes- a place much different from her home town of Kansas City, Missouri.Later, romance blossomed with a young man from San Francsico, and when the couple was married on the island, a chapter in a family's personal history became the subject of international news stories. This is a snapshot of a moment in time, of the infamous island as a home, not a prison.
